Questions About Faith

Who is God?

He is the creator of the Universe and all that is in it and is still the one holding it together today.  (Genesis 1:1, Colossians 1:16-17)

Does God love me?

Absolutely! So much in fact that he gave His only begotten Son to die for you so that you could have eternal life. (John 3:16) The Bible says you were not redeemed with junk like silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Christ.   (1 Peter 1:18-19)

Is the Bible really true? Can you trust it?

Yes, it is God breathed. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness," vs. 17, "That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." It is all there, every  word of it, for our benefit and blessing.

How can you personally testify to its truth?

Hebrews 13:8 says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I have personally seen the Jesus that the Bible declares doing the same things we read about in scripture. I have seen Him open blind eyes and deaf ears, make the lame to walk, and heal all kinds of sicknesses and diseases in our present day. (John 14:12) To me this is one of the great present day realities of the truth of God's word.

Why did Jesus come to earth?

Jesus said in Luke 19:10, "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost;" the ones that recognized they needed help (a physician). All we have to do is reach out/call out to Him because He desires to help/save us. (Romans 10:13)

How do I live right as a Christian?

By following your instruction manual (Bible). Just like you get a manual with a new car so that you know how to maintain it and take care of it, God gave us one too, it's called the Bible.  (Psalm 119:1-4, 2 Timothy 3:16)

Sometimes when I pray, God seems far away.

How do I know he hears me?

I John 5:14-15 says that if we ask anything according to His will we can be confident that He hears us, and that we can even expect a response from heaven. His Word is His will, so if we pray in accordance with His Word we can be assured that He hears us because He tells us so in His Word.

I'm believing God to answer my prayers,

but I'm not seeing results. Why?

If we are praying in accordance with His word, and we know He hears us, we need to be patient until the answer manifests. James 1:4 says patient faith leaves you wanting nothing, but because we live in a microwave generation sometimes it's hard for us to be patient, so we just give up. The Bible tells us to remain confident and not to pull back in our faith because there is a great reward for remaining steadfast. (Hebrews 10:35, 38) Remember, faith IS THE SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, and IT IS THE EVIDENCE of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

What does it mean to be born again or saved?

It means crossing over from a religious experience, or maybe no experience at all, into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. At that point you will have an assurance and know with 100% certainty that if you died suddenly that you would immediately be in heaven with Jesus. No element of question or doubt will remain.  (Revelations 3:20, Romans 8:16)

Don't all religions lead to the same God?

No, only the one that centers around Jesus Christ will lead to God The Father. In John 14:6, He (Jesus) says, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me (or through me)." He makes it very clear in scripture that He is the only doorway into heaven. Either He was lying or telling the truth - you decide.

(John 10:7-9, Acts 4:12)
